The best way to learn about mediascapes is to experience one. Getting started takes just minutes. You have two options.
Option 1:
Your Mac runs Windows — or you have a Windows-based computer
You have either:
- A computer running Windows XP or Vista
- A Mac with software (such as Parallels Desktop for Mac) that enables it to run Windows XP or Vista
Not only can you play mediascapes on your GPS device, you can create them too. Download Mscape Suite.
Experimental BetaVersion 2.6 | 11 MB
mscape experimental allows you to try out new features - but may be unstable
Option 2:
Your Mac or Linux computer doesn't run Windows
You have either:
- A Mac
- A computer running Linux
You can play mediascapes on your GPS device, but you won't be able to create them. Follow these instructions to download Mscape Player.
What you Need
- A Windows Mobile device with GPS (Which devices can I use?)
- A computer with a card reader for the storage card format your device uses
- An application that can extract a Zip file (like StuffIt Expander)
- Mscape Player
- A clear view of the sky so your device can get a stable GPS fix
What You'll Do
- You'll download Mscape Player.
- You'll follow the instructions on the screen.
- You'll install the Player on your GPS device.
That's it! When you're done, you're all set to go outside and give it a try.
Not a Mac user? Download Mscape Suite for Windows.
